This summer at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert was filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable experiences as children participated in three incredible camps designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Our Art Camp encouraged campers to see the beauty of God's creation through a creative lens. Children explored nature-inspired projects, experimented with a variety of painting techniques, and discovered the joy of expressing their own unique creativity. Every masterpiece reflected not only artistic growth but also the confidence that comes from trying something new in a supportive community.
At Science Camp, curiosity came alive through hands-on exploration and exciting discoveries. Campers investigated volcanoes, uncovered fascinating facts about dinosaurs, explored the wonders of weather, and challenged themselves through creative building activities. Each day sparked questions, encouraged problem-solving, and reminded us that learning can be an exciting adventure.
Our Spanish Immersion Camp introduced campers to the beauty of a new language and culture. Through engaging activities, songs, games, and conversation, children learned Spanish words for parts of the body, family members, emotions, colors, and numbers. They gained new communication skills while building confidence and appreciation for the richness of another language.
Each of these camps offered something unique, but they all shared the same purpose: providing a loving, encouraging environment where every child felt welcomed, supported, and inspired to explore something new. Whether creating a painting, conducting a science experiment, or speaking new words in Spanish, campers experienced the pure joy of learning, creating, and growing together.
We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated volunteers, staff, and families who made this summer possible. Their commitment and enthusiasm helped create meaningful experiences that will continue to inspire our campers long after summer has ended.
As we reflect on these wonderful weeks together, we celebrate not only the new skills our campers gained but also the friendships formed, the confidence built, and the memories created. We look forward to welcoming even more children for future opportunities to learn, explore, and grow together at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert.
